The Challenge

Big Game Battle is a long-running invitational fishing tournament that raises money for youth-focused charities. Their previous website, built on an aging platform, suffered from poor mobile usability, a disorganized content structure, and very low performance scores—especially on mobile, where it earned a PageSpeed score of just 34. Navigation was clunky, the branding lacked impact, and critical information like tournament dates, registration forms, and sponsor visibility weren’t easy to find or update.

The Goal

We delivered a full website overhaul that modernized the Big Game Battle brand online and made content easier to manage for organizers and attendees. Our work included:

  • Responsive Design Refresh – A sleek new layout built mobile-first to accommodate on-the-go users, with bold typography, clear CTAs, and streamlined navigation.
  • Speed & Performance Optimization – We replaced bloated code and heavy scripts with a custom lightweight WordPress build, significantly improving load times and Core Web Vitals.
  • Improved Content Structure – Reorganized menus and page content to make event details, charity information, sponsor links, and forms easier to find and update.
  • Media & Brand Highlighting – Integrated video, event photography, and cause-driven messaging to help boost visibility for their annual charity partner and enhance storytelling.

The Result

The new website is easy to navigate, fast to load, and easy for the Big Game Battle team to update each year. Attendees now have a smoother experience registering boats, checking tournament info, and learning about the charitable cause. The redesign also provided a stronger foundation for future digital fundraising efforts and sponsorship visibility.
